7 months

Madeleine Marie is 7 months old!!

Madeleine weighs 16 1/2 pounds and is in the 44th percentile for weight.
She is at least 27 inches long (she didn't cooperate at the doctor!) and 27 inches is in the 74th percentile for height.
She is mostly a joyful little goofball. She LOVES to laugh, sing songs, play patty cake, dance, and be bounced and tossed around.
Maddie removes her bibs at will.
She loves all fruits and vegetables now...even avocado! She loves eating mum mums but gets frustrated with her inability to consistently feed herself puffs. She gets mad and they all end up on the floor.
Her naps still stink in my opinion.
On a good night she goes to bed between 7 and 8, eats around 4am, then is back asleep until 9ish. But we have many many nights that she is up a lot more.
Madeleine loves LOVES Indy Cat!!! She gets super excited every time she sees Indy and grabs onto her paws and fur if we don't let Indy escape. Indy is really dumb though and puts her paws against Maddie's forehead to try and keep her away. That just makes Indy's feet even more accessible! She is a sweet cat though (despite how she chooses to act around our extended family) and just puts up with it.
The kid talks ALL THE TIME. She babbles, screams, grunts, squeals, and just blabbers all the time.
She still loves to read. We've expanded our Karen Katz collection and now read Princess Baby a lot.
Maddie has no interest in being mobile. She still hates being on her tummy.
She loves to pound on stuff now, especially her tummy.
Her eyes haven't set in any particular color. They are a navy blue most of the time. Her right eye has a little bit of a muddy green to the middle of it. They photograph black though.
She still loves to stand and she actually will not sit if she doesn't want to. She locks her legs and you can't physically make her sit on her bottom.
Sits up in the bathtub now and likes to play in the water.
Maddie has made it once through church in the nursery without us being paged.
She attended her first birthday party
Madeleine has a little birth mark on her left knee that has appeared.
She is wearing size 2 diapers
Maddie is in 6 and 9 month sleepers and is all over the board for other clothes.
The kid is totally over her bouncy seat and swing. She doesn't want to recline anymore.
Madeleine found out that she is moving to Texas!!! I'm pretty sure she said Yee-Haw when we told her.
I was going to write that she experienced her first extreme weather event but I realized her first month of life was filled with ice storms and blizzards (it's a total blur to me). I think we also slept through a small earthquake this spring too (Mark and I have slept through two since moving up here!). We had a wind shear or a small tornado wreak havoc on our trees on Sunday. One 20 year old tree even snapped in half! I guess Maddie needed to experience all of Indiana's weather before she left.

6 Months Old

Maddie Rie is 6 months old!!

This is what Madeleine has been up to in the last month:

Maddie Rie weighs 15lbs 9oz and is 27 inches long - She had a super growth spurt this month. Solid food really agrees with her. She hasn't been to her doctor yet but according to google she is around the 50th percentile for weight and between the 75th and 90th percentile for height. That is a HUGE jump from last month.
Madeleine is wearing size 2 diapers and is all over the board on what size clothes she wears. She has a small back and tiny shoulders so she can wear 0-3 tops but needs 6 months for onesies and some 9 month sleepers.
She talks Talks TALKS. ALL. THE. TIME. Everywhere. Anywhere.
Maddie can sit up on her own for an extended period of time.
She can drink out of a sippy cup with a straw. She looks soooo big doing this!
Maddie reaches for EVERYTHING. I can hardly eat with her sitting in my lap now.
She isn't interested in scooting or crawling yet. She still hates being on her tummy unless she is with her baby friends. Then she does what the cool kids do.
Maddie sleeps in her room in her crib full time now! She go to bed around 8 and sleeps about 8 hours straight at night then eats twice before getting up for the day around 9 or 10am. It's fantastic.

When she is on her tummy she looks like she is sky diving. She lifts her arms and legs off the ground and holds them there..
Maddie goes to the church nursery during worship now because she likes to scream (all the time....everywhere!). But she has only made it through the whole service once. We are working on that.
Maddie helped her Mommy and Daddy celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary at the zoo.
Madeleine worked on her first arts and crafts project to celebrate her Daddy for Father's Day. She did great. I figured that I would need to "guide" her with the finger paints but she was totally into it.
She likes sucking on her feet and tries to destroy her pretty socks that have lace or bows on them for fun.
Maddie still loves her swimming pool - no matter the temperature of the water.

5 months

Madeleine Marie is 5 months old now as of June 10th! Here is what she has been up to the last month:

She weighs 13 lbs 8 oz (doubled her birth weight on May 31st). We worked REALLY hard to do that. She is in the 15th percentile for weight. But she does have a little chub now!
Maddie is 25 1/4 inches long. She is in the 60th percentile for length.
Maddie screams and squeals.
She is eating solid food. She LOVES everything but Avocado.
She went swimming for the first time and loved it then and continues to love it now!.
She attended her first Friends Reunion in Kerrville.
She is reaching and grabbing consistently. We think she is going to be a leftie.
Madeleine is wearing in 3-6 month sleepers but still in 0-3 month clothes for anything without feet
She is in size 1 diapers
Maddie holds her arms out when she wants to be picked up.
This is random but she had her toenails clipped for the first time on June 4th (She had one big toe clipped shortly after birth but hadn't needed the rest done until now)
She is really in to removing her pacifier, looking at it, then attempting to put it back in, (this is so much fun at night for her mommy)
Went on her first road trip (Houston to Kerrville and back again)
She loves to read (especially "Where is Baby's Belly Button?")
She can sit with support and without support for about 20 seconds
She LOVES LOVES LOVES her Jumparoo!
Madeleine knows what a bottle is and freaks out when she sees one (empty or full).
Now has a decent bed time (10:15pm) but stopped sleeping really well at night. We were working towards transitioning her to her crib full time but since she decided to stop sleeping through the night it is just easier to leave her in our room. Sigh...
Maddie is terrified of public bathroom air dryers and really loud flushing toilets. She also intermittently is scared of my hair dryer.
She has a curl on top of her head.

4 months

Our sweet little girl is 4 months old! Time really needs to slow down. She is changing so fast.

Madeleine was very cooperative this month for her pictures and I couldn't narrow down my pictures any further!

She weighs 11 lbs 9 oz
On April 19th, at 13 weeks, she hit her father's birth weight (10 lbs 11 oz). His mother is superwoman. I can't even imagine.
She is quite the giggler - especially for her daddy
Wearing 0-3 month clothes
In size 1 diapers
Is gaining an interest in things other than her parents holding her
She spent two weeks being loved on by her RieRie while mommy went back to work. I'm pretty sure they are both totally smitten with each other.
Maddie is gaining interest in toys especially soft things she can pull to her mouth
She LOVES to stand
She LOVES playing with her tongue
Maddie now officially has a stay at home mom (CRAZY!)
She is sooo expressive. Her eyebrows say so much. She never leaves us wondering if she is happy or sad
Madeleine has started doing some reaching for things on her tray while sitting in her bumbo (Rie Rie taught her that neat trick!).
She sleeps great at night 7-9 hours but only catnaps during the day.
Maddie has started some separation anxiety from mommy.
She visited the zoo for the first time (she was up for the gardens, slept through most of the animals, then had a total meltdown and we left!).
She fake coughs.
After she sneezes she says Ooooo every single time. It cracks us up.
Met the Easter Bunny with her baby friends then celebrated her first Easter.
Talks ALL THE TIME.
Continues to make sure that her parents fall more and more in love with her every day.
Celebrated our first Mother's Day - Maddie gave Mommy an iphone! She is so sweet.
