I'm updating the blog!

I know yall are all super surprised.  All three of you that read my blog.  Hi Mom!  I have still been keeping track of Maddie's development and changes in our family but updating the blog has felt like a burden, I grew tired of it, and life got so busy.  But seeing how Maddie's baby book is also very very behind and I use my blog to help me keep up with that I better get on this before my brain turns to complete mush.  Oh, too late on the mush.

For those of yall not in the know, which I don't think is any of my three readers, we are pregnant with a little girl named Callie and she is due September 16th.  But she has thrown us a curve ball and tried to make her way into the the world eight weeks early on Monday, July 22nd.  Luckily, I went into early labor in the waiting room of my doctor's office and he figured out what was happening (I didn't know) and was able to get everything stopped.  So after a couple of nights in Labor and Delivery, I find myself with a little bit of time on my hands while on bed rest.  I am on some pretty strong meds that make me feel weird and out of it so there will probably be some typos but hopefully yall can read through my druggy haze.

Add two more pillows on my side of the bed and this is what bed rest looks like.  I hope I don't accidentally suffocate Mark in the middle of the night.

22 Months

Maddie Girl is 22 months old!

Maddie is saying some hilarious new stuff this month.
    • "Go go go I mean it!!"
    • "Want to Ahhhhhh" is I want to brush my teeth.  She also says "rinse" and has to do so at least 3 times with every toothbrush.
    • She counts 6 6 6 6
    • Says "yabadaba doo!"
    • She has renamed Pops "Bop"
    • Whenever she says RieRie she does so in the highest pitch possible!
    •  Maddie screams "Up! Up!" whenever she wants you to hold her.
    • She also now says "trash" and wants to put anything in the trash can that might possibly be trash.
    • Maddie says "shoes" and "juice" through her nose.  It sounds like she's speaking Yiddish.
  •  Madeleine is pretending to care for her babies and bunnies without prompting
  • She blows on all of her food even if it doesn't need it
  • She wipes her mouth with a napkin
  • The kid categorizes EVERYONE.  She is constantly yelling out "Mama, Baby, or Dada."  Teenage boy are completely unimpressed when she labels them "DADA" as they bag our groceries.
  • Maddie has started singing and sings "lalala" with her Minnie Mouse that sings Deck the Hall.  She also sings some of the ABCs.
  • Maddie tells EVERYONE hi and will not be ignored.
  • Maddie can say "socks, shoes, and hat" and loves talking about anyone wearing them.
  • She tells everyone and everything night night when it looks like their eyes have closed.
  • She is definitely into the "No" Stage.  She says "no" when she means yes and even says no as she is counting.
  • Maddie was the cutest chick you've ever seen for Halloween.  She did awesome too.  She did not let go of her bucket and made sure that she got at least three pieces of candy with every grab.  She also has requested that she wear her chick costume around the house.  While attending church's "Trunk or Treat" lots of little kids called her a duck or Big Bird.  She just looked at them and continued with her candy domination run.

This is at the Children's Museum.  A little while after this Maddie was playing with another toy and a little boy got in the car.  Maddie ran screaming "No!No!NO!" and forcibly removed the little boy from the car by his overalls.  We left shortly after that.

Pumpkin Patch with the cousins.

 Ready for Trunk or Treat!

This is our best family shot

Max, I don't have time to chat...

 Bounce house!!

 Wearing down.

Stealing my buddy Hannah's candy.  Shortly after this she was physically removed from Trunk or Treat by her father while she screamed and cried for more!  It was just too much fun for an almost two year old!  And she really did well on the candy front.  Her parents were quite happy with the haul.

Petting Zoo at the nursery.  She had a blast!  She pushed a donkey out of her way to get to the bunny and moved around the bigger kids to get to where she wanted to be.  She cracks me up!

Pumpkin decorating at the nursery.  She is so big!

Cuddling my chicky babe.  She wears this all the time!  (sorry about my weird arm.  I gave blood).

 Play group at our house.

Group photo attempt.  These are getting harder and harder to do.

The last photo!

Trick or Treating with my best buddy Hannah.  I'm pretty sure Maddie just stole some of Hannah's candy again.  Hannah was a great sport though because she only wanted suckers!

Our sweet neighbors.   They are expecting twins this summer!

Her treat after trick or treating.  Not only did she get to trick or treat with her buddy Hannah she also had her CiCi, Bop, Uncle Kyle, and Aunt Lauren come with her.  What a lucky little girl!

 At the Zoo

Hannah and Maddie posing with the elephant.  Maddie is doing her elephant trunk arm.

 She LOVES puff balls!

What happens if I talk on the phone more than 2 minutes and Maddie is awake.

She also loves to play with beans.

Licking the beater.

She had to wear her chick costume to GiGi's house.

21 Months

Madeleine is 21 Months Old!!

We are a little confused here about our holidays.  Yes she is wearing Halloween pajamas but she needed her Christmas Minnie Mouse for her photos.  What can you do?  Oh and check out how curly her hair is right out of the bath.  A lot of it straightens out when she sleeps on it.

Here is what she's been up to this month:
  • Maddie has 9 and 1/2 teeth but those lower canines are trying to work their way through.  And they are really giving her grief.  She will hold on to me and say "ohhhh Mama" in such a sad dramatic voice.
  • She has started singing this month.  It's so stinking cute.  She also has lots of moves to go with songs now.  She can do everything (in her own way) for the "Wheels on the Bus", "Patty Cake", "This little light of mine", and "Roll the Gospel".
  • Madeleine counts 9 9 9 for everything.
  • When she falls down she says "ohhh I crashed".  She is still super tough and it has to be a bad bad fall to illicit any crying from her.  Usually it has to involve hitting her mouth.
  • Maddie blows on her food (even if it doesnt need it).
  • Maddie is still a talking machine.  She has added yeehaw, cheers (it's on Mickey Mouse), ready set go!, please, chocolate, and many more animals noises than before.  She also says cocky for cookie or cooking.  At this point even if she is asking for a cookie when can appease her with other food but I'm sure the time is short on that one.
  • She is wearing mostly size 2T and is in size 5.5 shoes.
  • At night after she takes her bath we call it baby gymnastics time.  She walks around on her knees, rolls, jumps, walks on her tip toes and spins around like a maniac.  It's just madness.  Oh and usually she is naked.
  • She is reading bigger books now.  She is interested and will actively pay attention to preschool aged books like Green Eggs and Ham and other picture books.  I never realized how long and grueling Dr. Seuss could be for parents.  Yikes.
  • Maddie loves to kick and throws balls and is pretty good at it.
  •  When Maddie hears an exciting sound or sees soemthing she likes she pulls her lips into the tightest little oooo and looks so excited.  We think it's pretty funny.
  • This month she climbed up the slide we have in the backyard.  I was NOT ready for that one.  That's a lot more work for me.  Our fort that we inherited with our house is not toddler sized or toddler safe.  Thankfully, we've figured out she only has one pair of super grippy shoes that she can do it in so we'll just avoid those for the back yard.
  • Trip to Dewberry Farms with cousins Noah and Katie.

 Mmmmmmm Mexican food

 Cool baby!

Hanging out at Asher Creek Labor Day weekend.

 Mmmmm Green smoothie

 More Mexican food

 My best buddy Hannah!

YeeeHaw!!!  This is the best dog ever.  Especially since she thinks his ears are the reins.

 Sliding half naked

Aunt Becca save me from having to go inside with my mean Mommy!

Jealously watching Noah play outside

These photos just crack me up

Daddies are so much fun!

 Dewberry Farms Flower picking field

 Corn Maze

 Barrel train!

She was so serious at first with it!  She wanted to make sure that bull didn't get away.

 Tireddddd

you can't tell from this picture but Maddie is doing everything she can right now to pull her body into the lake to get that duck!

This was our attempt at a Cousin photo on the seemingly solid iron bolted down hog

As soon as I stepped away this happened.

Thankfully Uncle Jordan was there to catch the full aftermath
