4 months

Our sweet little girl is 4 months old!  Time really needs to slow down.  She is changing so fast.

Madeleine was very cooperative this month for her pictures and I couldn't narrow down my pictures any further!

• She weighs 11 lbs 9 oz
• On April 19th, at 13 weeks, she hit her father's birth weight (10 lbs 11 oz).  His mother is superwoman.  I can't even imagine. 
• She is quite the giggler - especially for her daddy
• Wearing 0-3 month clothes
• In size 1 diapers
• Is gaining an interest in things other than her parents holding her
• She spent two weeks being loved on by her RieRie while mommy went back to work.  I'm pretty sure they are both totally smitten with each other.
• Maddie is gaining interest in toys especially soft things she can pull to her mouth
• She LOVES to stand
• She  LOVES playing with her tongue 
• Maddie now officially has a stay at home mom (CRAZY!)
• She is sooo expressive.  Her eyebrows say so much.  She never leaves us wondering if she is happy or sad
• Madeleine has started doing some reaching for things on her tray while sitting in her bumbo (Rie Rie taught her that neat trick!).
• She sleeps great at night 7-9 hours but only catnaps during the day. 
• Maddie has started some separation anxiety from mommy.
• She visited the zoo for the first time (she was up for the gardens, slept through most of the animals, then had a total meltdown and we left!).
•  She fake coughs.
• After she sneezes she says Ooooo every single time.  It cracks us up.
• Met the Easter Bunny with her baby friends then celebrated her first Easter.
• Talks ALL THE TIME.
• Continues to make sure that her parents fall more and more in love with her every day.
• Celebrated our first Mother's Day - Maddie gave Mommy an iphone!  She is so sweet.

3 months - April 10th - Better late than never!

Madeleine Marie is 3 months old and we are falling more and more in love with her everyday!  She has really blossomed this last month.  She has gone from a sleepy newborn to an interactive little smile machine.  Here is what Maddie has been up to this last month:

• Madeleine smiles smiles smiles.  Often time with her tongue out too.
• She talks and coos all the time.  Her range of noises cracks us up (lip smacking, screaming, razzing, ooing and aahing and pretty much anything else you can think of).
• She has started doing some breathy gulpy laughs.
• She is still a tiny little thing.  But is growing and gaining weight at her own pace. 10 lbs 2 oz
• She has been to Sugar Land and met lots of family as well as lots of friends.
• She got sick for the first time with bronchitis while we were in Texas and went on her first medications.  She will eat anything and gladly sucked down steroids and antibiotics enthusiastically. 
• She has started consistently responding to her toys and really enjoys her play gym, bouncy seat, swing, and bumbo seat.
• Her favorite toy though is whatever her parents are holding.  She much prefers playing with us than alone.  I'll gladly oblige!

Maddie is missing football season since she slept through most of the end of the 2010 season...so we put on her NFL onesie.  She likes when there's baseball on TV but all we get here are the Cubs, White Sox, and Reds games.

 

More Newborn Photos

We have been in operation fatten up Maddie this week.  She is gaining weight but she is just doing it slowly so we are trying feed her until she busts this week to see what happens.  She is just such a little squirt!

So since all my time is consumed with nursing, feeding, and pumping I haven't been able to get my Sugar Land pictures fixed let alone clean my house or do anything productive!  So to tied anyone over (Granny maybe) wanting more pictures here are some of my favorite pictures from Madeleine's newborn photo shoot done by the AWESOME Alicia of http://aandkphotos.com/

Hoodie Time!

Madeleine is finally getting big enough (at least long enough) to wear some of her "real clothes."  Up until just recently she has only been big enough to wear onesies and sleeper type things.  Most of her "real clothes" are still too big but I've been itching to dress her up so we are wearing them now anyway! 

This outfit actually fits her really well and we love it!  And not only is she wearing real clothes but she is getting some cheeks too!

Smacking

This will be the most boring video you've ever seen if you aren't a grandparent. Maddie has been making smacking sounds with her tongue and lips and we've not been able to catch it on skype for the grandparents.
If the sounds don't quite match what she's doing then it's me in the background trying to elicit more noises from her.  Exciting stuff.

Strong Baby

She is checking herself out in the mirror here.  She can seriously hold her head up this high and steady for 3 to 4 minutes at a time.  We think she developed her strong neck muscles by bracing herself against my pelvis when she was stuck during the bad contractions during delivery.  She has never had a floppy neck or felt like a floppy baby to us.  It's too funny to see her like this since she is so small!!
